What is Colour Rendering Index (CRI)?

What is colour rendering index and why is it so important? 

CRI measures how accurately colours may appear under the light source. 

High CRI demonstrates how the colour would appear in natural day light. 

Low CRI levels give a less accurate measure of the actual colour and may give a washed out appearance. 

Perhaps you have decorated your home using your favourite colours and want to show this off at its best - the lighting you choose really matters, getting colour rendering index right is a significant factor when choosing your LED strip.   

The higher the CRI the more natural your colours will appear.
