IP rated strip

IP means ingress protection - this is an indicator of protection against moisture and dust.  The numbers indicate the rating of protection, the first number against dust and the second number a degree of protection against moisture. 

IP55 rated LED strip is designed with PU coating, offering "moisture proof" protection for areas such as bathrooms and kitchens. 

The intention of IP55 rated LED strip is to offer a degree of protection and is NOT adequate for “wet” areas or areas where the strip is directly open to outdoor elements such as rain, snow & ice. 

IP67 rated LED strip is designed with protective casing for outdoor areas, offering weatherproof protection - do not fully submerge into water.
