LED strip issues

LED strip issues:

IMPORTANT: Always you turn off the power before adjusting LED strip lights and components.

LED strip is not lighting up?

The LED strip is not lighting up after connecting to the power supply.

1) Firstly check that the power supply voltage and current rating are compatible with your 12v or 24v LED strip.

12v LED strip requires a 12v power supply
24v LED strip requires a 24v power supply

2) Check the power supply is working correctly.

Power up the power supply and check the voltage using a multimeter to confirm the voltage.

3) Remove additional components, i.e dimmer units.

Power up the LED strip with the correct size 12v or 24v power supply. By doing this you can determine where the problem is.  If the LED strip works, you may have a problem with the dimmer/ controller or the connection between those components.

4) Check for loose connections

Sometimes, snap fit connectors and solder joints come away, check to make sure all connections are securely in place.

5) Check for signs of short circuits that could have occurred during soldering.

Short circuiting occurs when the positive and negative wires to come in contact.

Check to make sure these wires are separated.

LED strip is dimmer at one end?

Check your LED strip specification.

Our LED strip lights have a maximum run length capacity. Attempting to exceed the maximum run length will cause voltage drop for the LED strip sections connected closest to the power supply.  You may need to split the strip into sections and power each length separately or choose an LED strip with a longer run length capacity which we have available in our range.
